Are Meal Plans required?
Lister Centre offers residents a meal plan similar to programs offered at many other universities across North America. Like most of these plans, the meal plan is mandatory for all students living in Lister Centre and is not intended to be “all-you-can-eat” or cover all of your food and eating costs in an academic year.
How does it work?
Your ONEcard operates like a debit card in that your purchases are deducted from the funds in your account every time your card is swiped at a cash register. Half of your meal plan funds are placed on your card in September and the second half in January. Any unused funds from the first term are automatically transferred to the second term.
How do I top up my ONEcard?
If you need to add money to your meal plan you can do so by visiting myonecard.ualberta.ca or contacting the Front Desk in Lister Centre (across from the Marina).
What if I want to change my Meal Plan?
Once your meal plan level has been selected you cannot change it to another option, but you can add money at any time at the Front Desk in Lister Centre or online through your ONEcard account.
How do I get into the dining locations once I have purchased my Meal Plan?
Within 24 hours, your Student ID card will be activated with your meal plan. Present your card to the cashier in the dining hall, and you are all set!
Can I carry meals over to the next semester?
Yes, Declining Balance does not expire.
Can I treat a friend to a meal?
Yes you can always treat a friend using your ONEcard.
